It’s a true story of the little kitty that could. After Bart the wundercat was hit by a car in Tampa, FL, his owner gave him a tearful burial. But five days later, Bart clawed his way out of his grave and found his way home—just in time for dinner.
Bart’s owner, Ellis Huston, told Fox13 that despite having head trauma, a broken jaw and a punctured eye, Bart is alive, which is no small feat considering how much time he spent struggling to escape a muddy hole.
Rescuers at the Tampa Bay Humane Society, where Bart is being treated, say that Bart is likely to make it, but the resilient feline will lose an eye.
Somewhere there’s a cat meme that’s begging to be used, but out of respect for Bart, we’ll resist the temptation.
Now, it’s a zombie dog’s turn to prove that the premise of Pet Sematary was not so far-fetched after all.
A 1-year-old dog named Theia was hit by a car, which resulted in a dislocated jaw and minor injuries. The driver then hit her head with a hammer in a “mercy kill,” before burying the poor pup in the ground.
Four days later, this miracle dog clawed her way out of her grave and limped her way to a farm in Moses Lake, Washington. Thankfully, a kind stranger took her in, and set up a GoFundMe campaign for $10,000 to cover the medical expenses necessary to fix her jaw and nasal damage so she could live normally again.
In one month, the campaign has managed to exceed its goals by raising over $16,000 for the resilient little dog.
