Attracting over 200,000 visitors yearly a quaint Roman Catholic Church known as the Cemetery Church of All Saints is one of the most visited tourist attractions of the Czech Republic. Once you step inside the church, you’ll see a very unusual ornament, the skeletons from 40,000 – 70,000 people, whose bones have been artistically arranged to form decorations and furnishings for the chapel. No wonder the church has a little strange name, because literally it is a church of bones!
On the outside it seems like a normal church, but once inside you’ll find a gruesome display within.
Thousands of skeletons hang inside of this church, mainly in the Sedlec Ossuary which is located beneath the main room.
An ossuary is a room that holds the bones of the dead, similar to a mausoleum.
At the center hangs an enormous chandelier of bones, which contains at least one of every bone in the human
In 1870, František Rint, a woodcarver, was employed by the Schwarzenberg family to put the bone heaps into order, yielding a macabre result.
The burial ground was enlarged during the epidemics of plague in the 14 th century, about 30 000 people were buried here

Knowing that thousands of dead bodies surround you, it would be hard to take a breath inside this church. But somehow it is still a church where in God dwells within.
