The look and design of your face can reveal much about your health. Here are some parts of your face that can tell if you are secretly suffering from some disease.
Eyes
White circle around the iris – it can be sign for high cholesterol. Increased fat percentage can be manifested in fatty lumps or bumps on the eyelids.
Falling eyelids – may indicate a condition called Bell’s paralysis due to nerve damage.
Nose
Unevenness –Reasons of this occurrence are not quite clear, but there is condition in which organs are getting scars, and they are manifested with unevenness of the nose. This is very rare disease and it is called sarcoidosis.
Big nose – If you have big nose you are less likely vulnerable to parasites and bacteria. This is due to nose’s hairs. Bigger noses have bigger hairs which protect better protection when it comes to dealing with bacteria and parasites.
Mouth
Short teeth – This occurrence is a result of excessive outpouring of gastric acid i.e. often burping.
Skin
Yellow colored skin – Yellowish eyes whites or yellow skin occurrences may be just a side effect of some medicines, usually medications for treating diabetes or high blood pressure.
Wrinkles – Deep wrinkles can be a sign of osteoporosis.
Cheeks
Redness – Redness could be either a sign of inflammation of the skin or indication to having Cushing’s syndrome – excessive levels of the hormone cortisol. This hormone causes swelling of the blood vessels, which initially manifested in the most sensitive part of the face – cheeks.
Purple cheeks – Blue or purple color on the cheeks may indicate to having a low level of oxygen in the blood.
Ears
Wrinkles inside the ear – Experts have come to the conclusion that the diagonal lines in the ears are probably indicating to heart disease. The study showed that 10% of people with wrinkles in the ears suffer from clogged arteries.
Hair
Thinning hair – In women this is usually a sign of accelerated thyroid gland, although not all reasons for hair loss are known. What is known is that women lose their hair due to iron deficiency, because it contains ferritin, which plays an important role in the production of cells responsible for hair growth.
Hair on the face – One in twenty females suffer from polycystic ovary syndrome, which is the most common symptom of increased facial hair and acne. Facial hair can also indicate to upcoming menopause.
Eyebrow loss – Eyebrow loss is a classic sign of a slowed thyroid work or insufficient production of the hormone thyroxine, which is very important for the production of hair’s follicles.
