This Natural Phenomenon Looks Like Something Out of An Apocalypse Movie

Icelander Kjartan Gunnsteinsson captured incredible photos and video of a bizarre weather phenomenon that has to be heard as well as seen: a huge waterfall of fog pouring over the cliffs into the Breidafjordur fjord in Djupadal, Iceland.

Using his phone, Gunnsteinsson took the above photo that appears to be a raging waterfall in the foreground and a series of waterfalls in the distance along the cliffs south of Latrabjarg, a promontory in the westernmost point of Iceland. He took other photos, too.

Gunnsteinsson was hiking with friends during Iceland’s summer solstice when he captured the images and video, in which you hear the roar of the wind that almost sounds like a real waterfall.
