Prince’s Death Is Reportedly Being Investigated As Murder

Following the death of Prince at 57 last week, people have been speculating what could have killed the musical icon. It has recently emerged that Prince stayed awake for six days before his death, and that a week or so before, he had been reportedly treated for an overdose.

Now, police investigating his death have reportedly launched a murder probe. According to the Daily Mirror, detectives are looking into whether he may have been over-prescribed prescription drugs which may have caused his death.

A police source told The Daily Star:

“A crack team have been assigned with learning minute by minute what Prince was doing during his final days. But the investigation will also look into his activities over the last two years. Prince’s medical history is at the top of detectives’ list when it comes to cause of his death.”

The source also said that police are refusing to rule out a criminal homicide charge, and are examining the phones, computers and email accounts of staff from Paisley Park.

They believe that Prince’s staff had built a “wall of steel” around him to stop details of his alleged opiate addiction leaking out.

According to TMZ, Prince had been hemorrhaging money in the years before his death, but in the absence of a will, his remaining $150 million will be split amongst his siblings.
