THE MCDONALD’S logo has a hidden sexual meaning planted there by the man who designed it in the 1960s.
The famous golden arches of the McDonald’s logo form an M, the initial of the company name.
But what many don’t know is that there is a saucy hidden meaning behind the internationally recognisable sign.
The logo was designed to mimic the shape of breasts.
The designer, psychologist Louis Cheskin, was hired by the brand in 1968.
He described the logo we know if today as “mother McDonald’s breasts.”
He hoped that by tapping into the Freudian significance in the subconscious minds of customers he would imbue a sense of calm at the chain restaurants, and bring more people in.
This was important because at the time McDonald’s was completely overhauling its business plan.
This meant all new, uniform restaurants, with brick walls and a different style of roof to the one customers were used to.
The fact was revealed by Eric Schlosser, author of Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal.
Another food chain is making changes too. Nando’s have launched their hottest ever sauce.
Named the PERi-PERi Vusa, the sauce is designed to be drizzled over everything from chips to chicken wings.
The name means ‘excitement and fire’ in Zulu, and the sauce combines more PERi-PERi chillies than any other Nando’s sauce.
It also includes Nando’s distinct citrus, garlic and onion blend for depth of flavor.
