The man immediately regrets his actions and brings her to the nearest clinic, where her left leg was soon amputated.
What would you do if you caught your partner cheating on you? While some would get physical and violent, there are some who would simply end the relationship or talk it out with their partners. However, this man was simply ‘suspicious’ of his wife, and his actions were way out of line—not to mention traumatizing for their children who witnessed it.
Kadek Adi Waisaka Putra, first threatened his wife, Putu Careen, with a machete, while accusing her of cheating. Instead of talking it out, Kadek suddenly started hacking her legs, even with their two young children watching. The harrowing incident happened in their home in Badung, Indonesia has left the children traumatized.
Soon after, Kadek realized he had done something wrong and immediately regretted doing so. He then brought Putu to the nearest clinic. But due to the sheer brutality of the attack, the woman’s left leg had to be amputated, while her right leg was almost broken off, almost tearing apart at the shin.
A legal aid advisor told Tribune Bali:
“Because this happened in Badung, TP2PA (police’s women and children’s protection unit) will plan to help psychiatric and psychological issues moving forward.”
In light of the gruesome event, a GoFundMe campaign (www.gofundme.com) has been launched on Thursday (Sept 7) to raise money for Putu.
The administrator of the page, Rohan Leonardo, said that he was extremely shocked after finding out what had happened to Putu, his friend, and housekeeper.
“Not only is this one of the most vile and vindictive acts of violence I’ve ever witnessed, the worst part is that in Indonesia, there is no welfare or government assistance for medical treatment of this kind.”
“This incident has left Putu without the ability to work to support her two children, pay for immediate medical treatment, prosthetic legs or obtain any kind of rehabilitation.
“All proceeds will be used for Putus expenses and all remaining money will be given directly to Putu to provide for herself and her children.
“If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting Putu, you would know that she is honestly one of the most genuinely kind and caring people you could ever meet.
“I struggle to see how anybody could do such a thing to such a lovely human being.”
Kadek was apprehended soon after bringing his wife to the hospital, and could be facing up to 10 years in prison for the brutal attack.
