Rethink Homelessness is a group of people hoping to open the eyes of the world and they way people view homelessness.
They found a variety of homeless people
All across the nation and gave them a simple instruction
to write down a fact about themselves that nobody knows.
On their website they state “Many people are surprised to learn that 80% of our community’s homeless are families and children.”
“Most of the families impacted were getting by just fine until one event led to their homelessness – perhaps a job loss or health situation.”
Their goal is simple, to help the world rethink homelessness.
They wanted to show a different side to the people you see on the side of the road with a cardboard sign.
They wanted to prove that these people have a story to tell and they are regular people like you and me.
So they started a campaign to help put a stop to homelessness.
Since the recession, the face of homelessness is changing from infants to elderly,
to disabled to veterans, the face of homelessness is evolving.
