Electric Wheel Lets You Turn Any Bike Into an Electric Vehicle in Under 60 Seconds

If you’ve been in the market for an electric bicycle but haven’t had the funds, or are attached to  your current bike frame, this is probably your dream come true.

A company called GeoOrbital has developed an electric wheel that you can pop onto your current bike frame in under 60 seconds.  It come, complete, with everything you will need to run the system, including a motor, battery, central unibody and the flat-resistant tire.

It has been tested with hundreds of bikes and as long as you have a 26, 28 or 29 inch wheel front and rim breaks, you’ll be able to use it.

Here’s the install

The motor will recharge whenever you’re riding but not using it, including coasting downhill, pedaling or slowing to a stop.  On one charge, you’ll be able to take this thing up to 50 miles at 20 MPH.

An incredibly successful Kickstarter netted the company $1.2 million of their $75,000 goal.  Wheels will cost $800 with an expected delivery date of February, 2017, purchasable through their website.
