This smoothie is full of kidney nourishing fruits that make for a delicious way to cleanse the kidneys. Bananas are full of potassium that is good for filtering excess calcium out of your urine, excess amounts of calcium put you at risk for kidney stones. Bananas are also full of magnesium; a diet high in calcium and low in magnesium can cause calcium to contribute to kidney stone formation. Magnesium prevents calcium from combining with oxalate, reducing the formation of crystals that result in common types of kidney stones.
Kiwis are another fruit that is high in potassium; they are good for making sure your kidneys are functioning properly. Parsley is particularly good for your kidneys, parsley is a natural diuretic, it increases the flow of fluids through the kidneys as urine production and output increases may have a cleansing effect on the kidneys as bacteria and germs are flushed out.
1 ½ Bananas
2 Kiwi Fruits
½ cup of raw almonds
1 Tbsp Fresh Chopped Parsley
1 ½ cups water
Blend all the ingredients in a high-speed blender. Be sure to peel the lemon, and if you wish you can sub out nut milk for water.
