After Seeing What This Dog Can Do, I’m Convinced It’s The Smartest Dog In The World

Public transportation is a source of travel for 21% of commuters who work in Seattle. But not everyone who uses the system is a human. Some people say that dogs are a creature of habit. They become dependent on things after doing them in a routine for so long. In Seattle, there is a dog named Eclipse, and she is proof of this theory.

Meet Eclipse, a 2 year old black lab that lives in Seattle. Her owner Jeff Young lives next to the bus stop. It has been a ritual for them since she was a pup to hop on the bus and ride down a few stops to the local dog park.

What is unique about this sweet dog? Sometimes her owner is not quite ready to get on the bus, so Eclipse takes things into her own hands and goes on the bus without him.

She rides the bus to the dog park, by herself. And the other commuters absolutely love the well-behaved dog.

This sweet dog has become a regular on the route, riding three or four stops before exiting at her destination of choice. “I catch up with her at the dog park,” owner Young explained.

I think it is safe to say Eclipse is a smart dog that knows exactly what she wants, the dog park. The other passengers and drivers appreciate her manners and she just sits and looks out the window waiting for her stop to arrive. The beloved dog owner also said, “She’s been here the last two years, so she’s been urbanized, totally. She’s a bus-riding, sidewalk-walking dog, Probably once a week I get a phone call. ‘Hi. I have your dog Eclipse here on 3rd and Bell.’ I have to tell them, ‘No. She’s fine.’ She knows what she’s doing.”
